Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Sethavidhya School collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), the PDPA.

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Who we are

Sethavidhya School (โรงเรียนเศรษฐวิทย์) is the data controller for personal data collected through sethavidhya.com. You can reach us at 39/1999 Hua Hin 102 Road, Nong Kae, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan 77110, by email at admin@sethavidhya.com or by phone on (+66) 88-959-3939.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us, plus a small amount of technical information needed to run the website.

  • Waiting list and school visit form: the names of parents or guardians, your children’s names and ages, your phone number, WhatsApp number, LINE ID and email address, your preferred visit date and time, and your answers about your hopes and priorities for your child.
  • Enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number or LINE ID, how you heard about us and your message.
  • After-school activity (ECA) sign-up: this form is hosted on Google Forms. The details you enter there come to the school through our Google account.
  • LINE, WhatsApp, phone and email: if you contact us this way, we receive your message and the contact details or profile name that the service shows us.
  • Website analytics: only if you accept cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used, such as the pages viewed, the type of device and browser, your approximate location (city level), how you found the site, and which contact buttons or forms were used. We look at this in summary form and don’t use it to identify individual visitors.
  • Technical logs: like any website, our hosting server records IP addresses and basic request details to keep the site running and secure.

Our forms are meant to be filled in by parents and guardians, not by children. Please don’t include sensitive information such as health conditions, religion or ethnicity unless you would like us to know it in order to care for your child. If you choose to share it, we will treat it as given with your explicit consent and use it only for that purpose.

How we use it, and why

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange your school visit, and to manage our waiting list and admissions. These are steps you ask us to take before a possible enrolment (PDPA Section 24(3)), and part of our legitimate interest in answering families who contact us (Section 24(5)).
  • To organise after-school activities that you sign your child up for (Section 24(3)).
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it, through Google Analytics, only with your consent (Section 19). You can withdraw it at any time.
  • To keep the website working and secure, including remembering your language and cookie choices (legitimate interests, Section 24(5)).
  • To meet our legal obligations where a law requires us to keep or disclose information (Section 24(6)).

We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. We use as few as possible:

  • pll_language (essential): remembers whether you are viewing the English or Thai site. Kept for 1 year.
  • sv_consent (essential): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page. Kept for 6 months.
  • _ga and _ga_3QL467486P (analytics, only if you accept): set by Google Analytics to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. Kept for up to 2 years.

Analytics cookies stay off until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you decline, the analytics cookies are deleted. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Who we share it with

Your details are seen only by school staff who need them to help you. We use a few trusted service providers to run the website and our communication, and they handle data on our behalf:

  • Hostinger, which hosts this website and stores form submissions.
  • Google, for our school email (Google Workspace), which receives a copy of each form submission, for Google Forms and, if you accept cookies, for Google Analytics.
  • LINE and WhatsApp, only when you choose to contact us through them.

Some of these providers may store data on servers outside Thailand. Where they do, we rely on their contractual and security safeguards, as the PDPA allows. We will only share your data with anyone else if the law requires it or you ask us to.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: up to 2 years after our last contact with you.
  • Visit bookings and the waiting list: while your application is open, and up to 2 years after our last contact if your child does not join the school. If your child enrols, the details become part of their school record.
  • Website analytics: 14 months.

After that, we delete the data or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and only authorised staff can see form submissions and our school email. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data. If a data breach ever happens, we will act quickly and inform the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee and the people affected, as the law requires.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you can:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to send it to another organisation;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data, or to stop or limit how we use it;
  • object to how we use your data;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example through Cookie settings at the bottom of the page (this doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it);
  • complain to the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) at pdpc.or.th.

To make a request, email admin@sethavidhya.com. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and in some cases the law allows or requires us to keep certain data. If so, we will explain why.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
